IOCB have participated in many drug development and chemical technology projects and many compounds originated from IOCB reached a market. By now, only several projects were decided to be commercialized as spin-off companies. Some projects based on IOCB compounds failed for various reasons before or after a company formation, but besides that, some are underway or in preparation. The company Okapi sciences Inc., an innovative veterinary medicine company, which was co-founded by IOCB was successfully acquired by Aratana Therapeutics Inc. in Jan 2014. This acquisition will help to exploit compounds and know-how from IOCB to improve treatment possibilities for animal virus infections either for pets or farmed animals.
