For the second time, IOCB Tech was a partner through its Foundation (Nadační fond IOCB Tech) of the French Embassy Science Awards, which celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. Additionally, foundation supported the accompanying public science conference "Sounds of Science," organized by the French Embassy and the French Institute in Prague. Read more

IOCB Tech, Prague.bio Association, and other prominent Czech companies inaugurated the Czech booth at the prestigious international event, Bio International Convention. This is the largest biotech event of its kind in the world, regularly attracting around 20,000 participants from over thirty countries. The official opening was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Czech Embassy in the United States, and CzechTrade agency. Read more

Just like in previous years, this year too, IOCB Tech was the main partner of one of the largest educational events in Europe. The unique festival hosted scientists such as evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, robotics visionary Hiroshi Ishiguro, and AI philosopher Susan Schneider. Read more

Discoveries from IOCB Prague now have a greater chance of being put into practice starting today, and patients with previously untreatable diseases have stronger hopes of receiving effective therapy. A unique translational center connecting science with its commercial applications – Pharmtheon – is now operational, marking a significant development in Czech science. Read more

During the year 2023, domestic applicants filed 465 new inventions or technical solutions with the Czech Industrial Property Office, which represents a record low number in nearly thirty years. The previous year saw the granting or validation of a total of 454 patents for domestic entities and 4,979 for foreign ones. Read more

Zuzana Hlavičková, Head of the Trade and Economic Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Madrid, visited the IOCB Tech Family booth at Europe's Largest Springtime Biotech Partnering Event, this time held in Barcelona. She considers the activities of the tech transfer family to be a very good representation of Czech science and a positive representation of the Czech Republic as a whole.     Read more

Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Minister for Science, Research, and Innovation Helena Langšádlová introduced individual measures of a comprehensive reform of knowledge transfer – the transfer of scientific findings into practice on January 25 at the National Technical Library. IOCB Tech presented a project on Neuro-active Steroids for Treatment of Neuropathic Pain. The project was presented both in the poster section as well as in the category of pitch talks for Collaborative and Licensing Opportunity Presentations. It was a first oral presentation of a new Mode of Action in this therapeutic indication. Read more
